Unabridged audiobook。Oh wow， so not only was I totally wrong about how much I would like or dislike this book， but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would。 I had tried reading this book back in high school and did not do the greatest job at finishing （I barely started it when I got overwhelmed with the way it was written and gave up） and after I learned that for a lot of the classics， I was actually better at listening to them than reading them in book form， I figured I would give this a tr Unabridged audiobook。Oh wow， so not only was I totally wrong about how much I would like or dislike this book， but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would。 I had tried reading this book back in high school and did not do the greatest job at finishing （I barely started it when I got overwhelmed with the way it was written and gave up） and after I learned that for a lot of the classics， I was actually better at listening to them than reading them in book form， I figured I would give this a try。 On Audible， this is narrated by Rosamond Pike who played Jane in the movie， which honestly made the book more enjoyable。 I knocked off a star for how dense this book is。 While I understand that it was one of the greatest books written in her time as well as a great novel for women， in the end， it doesn't mean the book is not dense and difficult to get through。 I think if I actually enjoyed older novels style， it may have affected my opinion。 Loved it， loved the movie， I think everyone at some point in their lives should attempt to read or listen to this book。 I would caution new readers not to get too discouraged by it though。 Like anything， reading takes practice and the more you read， the easier it is for some books to be understood after strengthening reading muscles。 。。。more

It took me almost a week to complete this one。 Classics books are usually difficult to grasp in but once you do you can dive it in completely。 To be honest， for me it was so confusing in the beginning。 There were so many characters in the book and they kinda shared similar names。 But as the story progressed on I enjoyed it thoroughly。 I mean ， the language used back then was so respectful and sweet to read。 I totally loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Mr Darcy！ ❤️

Honestly， it was just okay。 It started off very slow and even at it’s peak it was not all that exciting。Some of the language is difficult to decipher and seems unnecessarily long and flowery。Not much happens in the story， it is simply an okay love story set in the 19th century with rather bland drama/gossip。

I'm glad to have finally read this book and I can understand how some people can get sucked into the world of pride and prejudice。 Although set in a completely different era， the stretched-out love story and not very meaningful everyday conversations make the story seem more realistic。 I think one reason it is still much loved now is how although not exactly the same， a lot of the unique critiques against society Lizzy makes can still be applied to our current society。 Overall I would recommend I'm glad to have finally read this book and I can understand how some people can get sucked into the world of pride and prejudice。 Although set in a completely different era， the stretched-out love story and not very meaningful everyday conversations make the story seem more realistic。 I think one reason it is still much loved now is how although not exactly the same， a lot of the unique critiques against society Lizzy makes can still be applied to our current society。 Overall I would recommend this book to anyone interested in literature。 The only reason I give it a 4 is that I took too long to read it so it felt even more dragged out in length。 。。。more

So much has been written and said of this classic， I don't think I can add anything more。 It's a well done story about romance， independence， and being true to yourself。 While the writing style of the times is certainly dated， it was still an enjoyable read with some memorable characters and entertaining plot。 I didn't love it as much as some other classics， but after reading some commentaries on it， I did further appreciate the character development， well done dialogue， and reoccurring motifs。 So much has been written and said of this classic， I don't think I can add anything more。 It's a well done story about romance， independence， and being true to yourself。 While the writing style of the times is certainly dated， it was still an enjoyable read with some memorable characters and entertaining plot。 I didn't love it as much as some other classics， but after reading some commentaries on it， I did further appreciate the character development， well done dialogue， and reoccurring motifs。 What more can I say？ It's a classic for a reason， but I don't really get the "Austen-mania" over it。 I think the style was just too wordy for me， and the narrator too straightforward。 While I'm glad to have read it， I'm not sure I'll re-read it again。 Maybe someday。 3。5 stars。 。。。more
